Memorandum Order No. 359, issued on April 8, 1996, authorizes a clothing allowance of P1,800 for officials and employees of the Office of the President (Proper) for the calendar year 1996. This allowance is applicable to those in service as of the issuance date or appointed by October 31, 1996, contingent on the availability of funds and adherence to accounting and auditing regulations. Additionally, the Dress Code Committees, reconstituted under a prior special order, are instructed to convene promptly.

AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF CY 1996 CLOTHING ALLOWANCE FOR OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT (PROPER)
Pursuant to Section 39 of the General Provisions of the General Appropriations Act of (R.A. 8174), officials and employees of this Office, regardless of the nature and/or source of their salaries/wages, provided they are in the service as of the date of the issuance of this Order or are appointed to any position and assume office not later than October 31, 1996, are hereby authorized clothing allowance of ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED (P1,800.00) PESOS each, effective immediately, subject to the availability of funds and to applicable accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
The Dress Code Committees, reconstituted under Special Order No. 142-A dated April 8, 1996 are hereby directed to convene immediately.
